Think, what is the smallest thing in life?… Piensa en eso y haste una imagen clara de lo que tu piensas, es lo mas diminuto a la vista humana, porque? Bueno, te pareciera ridiculo si te digo que lo hagas por el hecho que eso puede ayudarte a entender algo muy GRANDE. Y tu diras: “something big can teach me something, about something small”… (Woow! that was a lot of “somethings!” in just one small sentence, but anyway you get the point|)… How can that be, right? Bueno, picture yourself trying to explain to a little kid that had just asked you “how does it feel to be in the middle of the ocean?”
… Ja! that is some question, right?, but, hey dont panic (like we often do when kids ask these types of questions!) we can think it through!
Let’s start by taking that big picture and translating it into something waaaay smaller than that, like for example: “how does an ant feel when it is in the middle of an olympic swimming pool?… (com’on! use at least a little bit of imaginacion)…
…and you will ask, bro, how does this help? What the heck are you trying to say with all this? Well think about…
we don’t really have to know how BIG the ocean is to know how it feels to be in the middle of it. The kid’s question was: “how does it feels…”, so we want to picture that in a smaller scale. In other words, we want to get as close as possible to that reality!
Sooo, let’s picture una pobre hormiguita in the middle of an olympic swimming pool! This new image will help us to imagine how empty and helpless it might feel to be in the middle of something so humongous. Ok! This is the point: “something so small can teach us about something so big, because the simpler we look at big things, the better will be our understanding of them!”
When we think of the pool and the ant in it, we can clearly picture the two huge differences, and just that can help a little kid imagine how it would feel to be in the middle of something so big (because he will take his first image into a smaller scale)… by doing this we wont affect the reality of the ocean’s true expansion.
Es interesante saber que Jesus simplifico cosas tan abstractas y complejas en nuestra imaginacion con cosas tan sencillas de la vida. When He wanted to show us how big the kingdom of God was, He never tried to explain it to us by using details of something abstract, like the kingdom of God. Instead, He gave us images, like we did to the kid. Jesus compared the Kingdom of God to many things (in parables), but let’s use one parable in which He answers the little kid’s question about something so BIG. He compared the Kingdom to a tiny and insignificant mustard seed like this one:
The kingdom of God (which i personally believe to be something my mind cannot comprehend… that place gotta be huge and beautiful!) compared to a mustard seed? Are kidding me Jesus? Can you compare that HUGE place to a tiny piece of nothing?… Well, bien dicho, fue Jesus quien se atrevio a hacerlo and left it painted in the mind of humanity for more than 2000 years… He did it on purpose, he did i because He wanted to challenge our preconceived ideas about an unseen place, He wanted to do a “reality check” on us for eternity, so He’s done it once again!
But, Why did He do it?, Why did He go so down to take us so up? What is Jesus intension on teaching the Kingdom of God with a mustard seed?… Ohh! I’m sorry let me tell you where you can find that parable: Lucas 13:18-19 and it goes like this:
“¿A qué se parece el reino de Dios? –continuó Jesús–. ¿Con qué voy a compararlo?
Se parece a un grano de mostaza que un hombre sembró en su huerto. Creció hasta convertirse en un árbol, y las aves anidaron en sus ramas.”
Ok, from now on, lets keep this lesson shorter and simpler… Jesus nos llevo a entender el Reino de Dios de una manera diferente y para eso debemos dejar claro que esta parabola tiene como imagen principal, la semilla de mostaza. Why?, bueno, I will only give you a little reason (but a good one!), notice that every verb (every action) is to describe the seeds ilustration… This way we can better understand why this parable is called: “la parabola de la semilla de mostaza”, think about it, it could have been called: “un sembrador y una semilla de mostaza”, “la semilla de mostaza y las avez”, and so on… This is important, because, this way can concentrate on the seed picture.
So, first of all, we have to say that: el Reino de los Cielos is for now para nosotros, invisible. Pero se hace visible now en su efecto. This is important to know, because asi podemos entender el porque del uso de la semilla de mostaza para comparar algo tan grande como el Reino Celestial. Mira la foto de arriba (#5) y veras que tan pequena puede ser esta semilla. Podras observar que por un momento puede llegar a ser hasta invisible a la vista humana. Pero luego como Jesus nos ensena en la parabola que esta semilla crece y se hace un arbol el cual se puede decir que es el efecto. Asi es el mismo Reino de los Cielos. Escuchamos de este, por medio de imagenes que tratan de ensenarnos sobre algo tan abstracto como “El Reino de los Cielos” (hello! quien ha estado alli!, no-one right?)… Pero Jesus lo trajo a la tierra y desde entoces hemos podido ver su efecto, por medio de aquellos que han recibido su mensaje y crecen como ese arbol haciendo su efecto MUY VISIBLE.
Segundo, “El Reino esta en las cosas pequenas”… no trates de ir a la iglesia mas grande, si en ella no han crecido arboles grandes. talvez si buscas cosas GRANDES en el reino de Dios te desilusionaras y diras “pero como estos cristianos no son tan santos?” “como puede ser que no tengan tanto dinero como la demas gente afuera de la iglesia?”… The point is: “dont be fooled by the appearance, check the small things that make up any big package!”… simpler, when we check any Christian according to the greatest expectation from God, we will sometimes be desilusionados!… Todo Cristiano debe actuar como Jesus nos ensena (eso esta claro!), but we as Christians have to understand that Love, Peace and Joy (entre algunas de las actitudes del Reino de los Cielos) are Big Things that can be demostrated by simple and small acts in our lives, so dont stress (you Christian) by trying to show Love de las maneras mas grandes… Love is simple and can get into anyone’s heart by simple muestras de compresion y cuidado. Now, as for you (No-Christian), whenever you want to know whether someone is a “good Christian” or not, just check if they know how to be great in the smallest things. Can that person that you are checking be peaceful when simple things turn bad?, that might help you and once you’ve done that, go and do the same… Then, recognize that Jesus is the One who can teach you to be great.
Finally, just like the little seed turned into one of the biggest trees and the birds came and did their nest on it, we can also be that example in everything we do, so that others can benefit from it. Las ramas (branches) son esas extremidades que salen de ti como resultado de tu crecimiento para que alcanzen a otros y asi esos puedan recibir lo bueno del Reino de Dios, get it?
Just dont stress trying to be the best at once, Paul (Pablo) reconocio que el hace una pequena parte en el Reino de los Cielos, but then God like always takes comlete control. So,remember this pasage from the Bible:
“Yo planté, Apolos regó; pero el crecimiento lo ha dado Dios.”

La Parabola: La Semilla de Mostaza
REDIMIENDO EL TIEMPO!
Cada viernes compartimos una Palabra de Dios y nos esforzamos como dice Josue 1:9, de manera que el Reino de Dios nos use para transformar este “reino” en la tierra. Una de las grandes bendiciones que he visto por el hecho de permanecer (como la Palabra de Dios nos exhorta!) es que si yo sigo con Jesus alguien va querer acompanarnos y esto ha sucedio desde entonces.
crece (no ha terminado de crecer, cuidado!) y Kevin como muchos otros muchachos y muchachas en el ministerio Kyros crecen dentro de esa semilla (la Palabra de Dios) para que asi mas adelante lleguen a ser entre los cristianos que mas bendicen a otros! Como el arbol que le da sombra a las avez que viene a hacer nido en el.
